Quality Engineer (Manufacturing Quality)

Location: Fully onsite in Wotton, Surrey, United Kingdom; some international travel may be required.

What you will do

• Manage customer-raised product quality issues, identify root causes, and implement permanent corrective actions.
• Lead problem-solving sessions using 8D methodology, 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagrams, FMEA, and SPC.
• Collaborate with Production, Engineering, Supply Chain, and external stakeholders to resolve quality issues and optimize processes.
• Monitor quality KPIs, maintain the Quality Dashboard, and track metrics including Defects Per Unit.
• Lead quality control and Lean initiatives focused on defect prevention, waste reduction, and continuous improvement.
• Support new product introductions and review engineering changes to maintain product robustness, reliability, and consistent quality.

Requirements

• Scientific or Engineering degree preferred.
• Experience in a manufacturing or production environment, preferably in pharma, biotech, or medical devices.
• ISO13485 and ISO9001 experience required.
• Advanced experience with 8D methodology and root cause analysis tools, including 5 Whys and Fishbone Diagrams.
• Strong knowledge of Lean principles, process optimization, and waste reduction.
• Proficiency with Excel, Pivot Tables, Pareto Charts, data presentation, and analytical work.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of plastics or injection molding.
• Experience in the life sciences industry.
