Quality Manager (Manufacturing)

Location: Chicago, Illinois, USA. On-site role requiring travel between five local manufacturing facilities in Melrose Park and Elk Grove Village, plus occasional domestic and international overnight travel.

Employment type: Full-time, permanent. Typical schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00am–3:30pm, with additional hours as needed; the position typically requires 45–55 hours per week.

What you will do

• Manage the DRC quality assurance program and maintain an ISO 9001-compliant system.
• Build customer relationships, handle product inquiries and escalations, resolve returned goods, and manage warranty communications and dispositions.
• Lead Quality personnel and work with Quality Engineering, Field Service, production, purchasing, and engineering teams.
• Develop metrics and reports, identify quality trends, and implement efficiency and waste-reduction improvements.
• Lead root cause analysis, countermeasure implementation, and multi-departmental warranty fixes, including replacement-part design, construction, and installation.
• Perform supplier quality audits and onboarding, and manage the internal audit program, auditor training, and performance monitoring.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM-related field.
• 5+ years of combined customer-facing and operational experience in industrial manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of quality-control processes, including 8D, 5-Whys, PPAP/APQP, and 5+6S.
• Strong interpersonal, customer service, written and verbal communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of machine-tool processes and capabilities, with the ability to visualize 3D design concepts and manufacturing methods.
• Ability to drive between five local manufacturing facilities; a clean driving record is required.

• Experience with heat-transfer products and sheet-metal fabrication processes.
