What you will do

• Design, develop, and implement automated solutions for injection moulding and secondary assembly processes.
• Integrate robotics, conveyors, automated inspection, material handling, and industrial control systems.
• Lead automation projects from concept through validation and production release.
• Provide production support by troubleshooting controls, robotics, and automated equipment to minimise downtime.
• Drive improvements in OEE, scrap, cycle time, labour efficiency, and equipment reliability.
• Complete risk assessments, safeguarding, validation, and engineering documentation for compliant automation systems.

Requirements

• Degree, HNC/HND, or apprenticeship in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline.
• At least 3 years of automation engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with injection moulding processes and related automation systems.
• Strong knowledge of PLC programming, industrial controls, robotic programming, and integration, including systems such as FANUC.
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings, with strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Understanding of IQ/OQ/PQ validation requirements and manufacturing safety standards.

Nice to have

• Lean Six Sigma qualification.
• Project management experience.
• SolidWorks or other CAD experience.
