Engineering Director (AI)

Location: Denver, Colorado, United States; hybrid with three days in the office on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Candidates must live in the United States. Relocation support is available for candidates moving to Denver.

Base compensation: $189,000–$214,000 per year, plus variable compensation and equity.

What you will do

• Set the engineering vision and build a highly engaged organization that delivers predictably against customer and business needs.
• Lead multiple engineering teams, coach engineering managers, and address technical, resource, and personnel issues.
• Partner with Product Management, Architecture, business stakeholders, and external partners to prioritize solutions, plan milestones, and manage delivery.
• Establish and enforce development standards supporting technical quality, security, cost efficiency, performance, scale, and reliability.
• Identify AI opportunities to automate manual processes, improve productivity, create revenue streams, and enhance production systems.
• Research emerging technologies and promote technical innovation, data literacy, and AI fundamentals across engineering.

Requirements

• 5+ years of engineering management experience and 10+ years of software engineering experience.
• Experience managing managers and leading multiple teams.
• Experience collaborating with customers, senior management, business leaders, and external partners.
• Strong knowledge of agile software development and management, with exposure to multiple programming languages and frameworks.
• Experience with security, cost, performance, scale, reliability, cloud-based data architectures, and DevOps culture; AWS is preferred.
• Must be currently authorized to work full-time in the United States.

Nice to have

• Experience with DevSecOps and event-driven architectures and platforms.
• Understanding of native mobile app development and frontend web development.
