Engineering Lead (AI)

Location: Burnaby, Canada; on-site five days a week

Salary: CA$230,000–CA$350,000 base compensation, plus equity and a CA$38,333–CA$58,333 bonus.

What you will do

• Lead the Burnaby engineering site as its senior-most engineering leader and set operating standards for an approximately 10-person organization.
• Own delivery across growth engineering, experimentation, conversion, pricing, monetization, data science, and reframing systems.
• Review designs, challenge architecture, unblock complex technical problems, and remain engaged with production systems and code.
• Build an AI-native engineering culture where AI agents are part of daily engineering workflows.
• Support platform/SRE, security, and B2B engineering teams through influence, visibility, and shared quality standards without direct organizational ownership.
• Partner with leadership and engineering teams in Mountain View, Shanghai, and Chengdu, while representing Vancouver-area engineering in company decisions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years of software development experience, including 3+ years managing engineers.
• Experience owning growth engineering surfaces such as experimentation, conversion, or monetization.
• Experience with enterprise/B2B engineering, customer-facing delivery, integrations, and security reviews.
• Experience with security and compliance for PII-heavy systems, including SOC 2, access control, or data governance.
• Must work on-site in Burnaby five days per week.

Nice to have

• Background in creator tools, video, or the creator economy.
• Startup experience, preferably in AI or video.
• Experience growing an organization or site from its current size to two or three times larger.
