Senior Engineer - Electrical

Location: Onsite in Kirkwood/Binghamton, New York, United States

Salary: $100,000–$120,500 per year, depending on location and experience.

What you will do

• Plan and execute engineering activities for electric transmission, substation, and system protection projects.
• Perform power-system analyses, engineering calculations, reliability studies, and outage contingency planning.
• Develop detailed designs, engineering criteria, improvement proposals, estimates, and capital budget business cases.
• Coordinate with departments, vendors, consultants, government agencies, customers, and other utilities.
• Direct engineering contractors and consultants and provide commissioning support and supervision.
• Manage field construction for substations and transmission lines, including specifications, contracts, budgets, schedules, and change negotiations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and at least 5 years of relevant experience.
• At least 5 years of experience in electric transmission systems planning, operations, and/or protection.
• Knowledge of FERC and state regulations.
• Ability to perform circuit analysis, including voltage drop, capacitor, and siting analysis.
• Ability to perform fault-duty and motor-start analysis, with strong analytical, interpersonal, communication, and project management skills.
• Ability to work onsite in Kirkwood/Binghamton, New York, and comply with applicable immigration requirements to work in the United States.
