Electrical Engineering Design and Integration Manager (AC Power Systems)

What you will do

• Lead, supervise, mentor, and allocate workloads for electrical engineers and technicians in the Power Supply Group.
• Manage the specification, design, analysis, fabrication planning, quality control, documentation, and operation of the EIC cable, cable tray, and rack plant.
• Coordinate electrical integration with accelerator systems, magnets, controls, and facility infrastructure.
• Support the design, procurement, installation, and commissioning of AC power distribution systems and power supplies.
• Serve as a Control Account Manager by tracking progress, expenditures, resources, forecasts, and earned-value performance.
• Develop and enforce engineering standards, configuration controls, documentation, electrical codes, and ES&H procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a closely related field.
• At least 10 years of relevant electrical engineering experience in a large scientific, industrial, or technical environment.
• Experience supervising and developing electrical engineering and technical staff.
• Strong knowledge of AC power distribution, power supplies, grounding, protection, and system integration.
• Experience with cable and rack design, routing, installation, and configuration control, plus project scheduling and cost tracking.
• Ability to work onsite in Upton, New York; climbing ladders, qualifying as a Radiation Worker, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to obtain and maintain a DOE UPIV credential are required.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in electrical engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience in accelerator or large-scale research facility environments.
• Knowledge of NEC Code Article 392 and NEMA VA-1.
• Prior Control Account Manager experience within an earned-value management system.
• Experience with 3D CAD, cable routing, or engineering documentation systems.
