Electrical Engineer (BESS)

Location: Remote or in-office in Lakewood, Colorado; applicants must be authorized to work full-time in the United States.

Salary: $75,000–$110,000 per year, based on the Denver, Colorado labor market.

Engineering services firm delivering electrical power and battery energy storage system design, analysis, and field support for clients across the United States.

What you will do

• Perform detailed physical and electrical design for all aspects of battery energy storage systems.
• Develop equipment general arrangements, single-line diagrams, elevations, connection details, bills of materials, grounding plans, conduit plans, and illumination plans.
• Build computer-based models and conduct power system studies, including load flow, reactive power, ampacity, short circuit, grounding, illumination, arc flash, harmonics, and system losses.
• Write material, equipment, and construction specifications and review submittals for compliance.
• Prepare cost estimates, budget reports, engineering studies, and project documentation.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, review work for quality, support field troubleshooting, and maintain client communication.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited institution; an electric power concentration is preferred.
• 1–4 years of relevant engineering or field experience.
• Experience with AutoCAD.
• Effective written and oral communication and strong interpersonal skills.
• Current authorization to work full-time in the United States is required.
• FE or PE licensure is a plus but not required.

Nice to have

• Experience with utility-scale BESS.
• Experience with AutoCAD Electrical, PowerFactory, ETAP, CYMCAP, CDEGS/WinIGS, or Visual Lighting.
• Experience with 3D BIM design software.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word.
