Sr DevOps Engineer - Azure DevOps - Remote (Azure DevOps)

Annual base salary: $135,000–$165,000

What you will do

• Administer Azure DevOps projects, repositories, pipelines, boards, permissions, service connections, extensions, and enterprise integrations.
• Standardize platform configuration, naming conventions, permissions, work items, repository hygiene, and project lifecycle practices.
• Govern CI/CD pipelines, Git workflows, branch policies, pull requests, build validation, agent pools, environments, approvals, and reusable YAML templates.
• Implement DevSecOps guardrails, security-as-code standards, access controls, audits, and integrations with Wiz and other security tools.
• Configure Azure Boards for Agile, Scrum, and Kanban teams while improving planning, backlog hygiene, reporting, and cross-team visibility.
• Lead the Azure DevOps governance committee, troubleshoot platform issues, and partner with engineering, security, infrastructure, architecture, compliance, and business stakeholders.

Requirements

• Extensive hands-on experience administering Microsoft Azure DevOps in an enterprise environment.
• Strong knowledge of Azure DevOps organizations, projects, repositories, pipelines, boards, artifacts, permissions, process templates, extensions, and integrations.
• Deep understanding of Git workflows, branching strategies, pull requests, branch policies, repository governance, and code reviews.
• Experience governing Azure Pipelines for CI/CD, including YAML pipelines, variable groups, environments, approvals, agent pools, and service connections.
• Experience configuring Azure Boards for Agile, Scrum, and Kanban delivery, including backlogs, sprints, queries, dashboards, and delivery tracking.
• Strong DevOps security, troubleshooting, communication, stakeholder collaboration, governance, and technical documentation skills.

Nice to have

• Microsoft Azure or Azure DevOps certifications.
• Experience with Azure, Entra ID, service principals, managed identities, Infrastructure as Code, policy-as-code, and security-as-code.
• Experience with Wiz, Git, ServiceNow, Azure DevOps REST APIs, PowerShell, Azure CLI, Power BI, OData, or custom automation.
• Experience in regulated, security-conscious, or audit-driven environments.
