Life Underwriting Sr Quality Risk Manager

Location: Work from home, USA

Salary: $93,000–$120,000 annually, plus eligibility for a discretionary annual bonus of 15%.

What you will do

• Perform internal audits of life underwriting work for compliance with company policies, Sarbanes-Oxley requirements, and industry standards.
• Review contestable claims, prepare reports, and consult with the Claims Department.
• Trend and analyze mortality and morbidity experience in life and protection insurance markets.
• Act as the Life & Protection liaison for the Medical Information Bureau and complete annual MIB self-audits.
• Assist with projects and special assignments.
• Train, support, and review the work of lower-level staff as needed.

Requirements

• At least five years of underwriting experience with mortality- and morbidity-based products.
• At least two years of directly related auditing experience.
• Thorough knowledge of underwriting practices, industry standards, and related Sarbanes-Oxley regulations.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills for audit feedback, consultation, and staff training.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills for audits and data interpretation.
• Ability to independently manage assigned audits and interpret a wide range of information.

Nice to have

• Underwriting audit or contestable claims experience.
• FLMI or FALU certification.
• Knowledge of Life & Protection products and distribution systems.
