Environmental O&M Technician (Environmental)

Location: USA-FL-Tampa-Breckenridge Pkwy; field service work based in the Tampa, Florida office.

Salary: $25–$35 per hour, depending on experience, skills, and geographic location.

What you will do

• Operate field monitoring equipment, including PID/FID, pH, EC, DO, GEM, turbidity, water-level, LEL, and geolocation equipment.
• Conduct environmental collection, monitoring, sampling, testing, and basic evaluation at multiple locations.
• Perform operations and maintenance on environmental treatment and remediation equipment.
• Document field results, prepare daily reports and data sheets, and enter monitoring data into Word and Excel.
• Complete chain-of-custody documentation, label and transport samples, and manage hazardous materials and waste disposal.
• Communicate site conditions to Project Managers, interact professionally with clients, and troubleshoot mechanical system issues.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; 2+ years of relevant environmental monitoring experience, or a bachelor's degree in Geology, Environmental Sciences, or Engineering in lieu of experience.
• 2+ years of experience operating and maintaining remediation systems, including advanced electrical and mechanical troubleshooting.
• 2+ years working with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection Petroleum Restoration Program and its Standard Operating Procedures, or a comparable regulatory environment.
• Valid Class C driver's license with a clean driving record, willingness to travel, and ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Ability to complete and maintain 40-hour HAZWOPER certification and annual 8-hour refresher training.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, strong problem-solving and communication skills, and ability to work independently with cross-functional teams.

Nice to have

• 5+ years of environmental collection, monitoring, sampling, testing, and evaluation experience.
• 5+ years of Florida Department of Environmental Protection Petroleum Restoration Program regulatory experience.
• Experience with advanced remediation-system troubleshooting, Air Sparge/SVE, and bioaugmentation.
