Counsel - Employment Law

Location: Hybrid in St. Paul, Minnesota, United States; occasional travel required.

Annual base salary: $126,500–$208,700, plus eligibility for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What you will do

• Provide legal advice on hiring, performance management, leave, accommodations, terminations, wage and hour matters, restrictive covenants, contingent workforces, and employment policies.
• Manage and support employment arbitration, litigation, administrative charges, internal investigations, and external counsel.
• Draft and negotiate employment-related agreements.
• Partner with HR to develop compliant policies and practices that mitigate legal risk.
• Contribute to employment law projects, training, and guidance on judicial and regulatory developments.
• Use technology, automation, and artificial intelligence in legal practice while building relationships with internal stakeholders.

Requirements

• Juris Doctorate or equivalent international legal degree from an accredited law school.
• At least 3 years of legal experience.
• Active license to practice law in the state or states where representation is required.
• At least 5 years of employment law experience in a large firm or in-house environment is preferred.
• This is an individual contributor role with no people-management responsibilities.
