Senior Legal Counsel, Employment

Location: Chicago, IL, United States; full-time, on-site role

Salary: $160,100–$272,300 USD per year, plus a discretionary bonus that may include equity.

What you will do

• Advise HR, Employee Relations, Compliance, Risk, and business leaders on employment matters across the employee lifecycle.
• Guide internal investigations involving harassment, discrimination, retaliation, misconduct, and ethics or compliance concerns.
• Manage employment litigation, administrative proceedings, agency charges, outside counsel, legal budgets, and settlement strategy.
• Monitor employment law developments and draft policies, procedures, and employee communications.
• Support reorganizations, reductions in force, acquisitions, integrations, executive employment matters, severance, and retention programs.
• Develop and deliver employment law training for managers, HR professionals, and senior leadership.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
• Active state bar membership in good standing and compliance with attorney licensing requirements in the position's jurisdiction.
• 10+ years of employment law experience.
• Significant experience in employment litigation, employee relations counseling, internal investigations, and employment law compliance.
• Experience supporting large, complex organizations and advising senior executives and HR leadership teams.
• Authorization to work in the United States without current or future employment-based visa sponsorship.
