Senior Legal Counsel (Healthcare)

Location: USA - Waltham, MA

Salary: $128,900–$226,050 USD annually, plus bonus eligibility.

What you will do

• Provide legal advice on commercial, contractual, regulatory, litigation, and day-to-day matters supporting healthcare information products and services.
• Structure, draft, and negotiate SaaS, enterprise licensing, subscription, implementation, services, reseller, distribution, and strategic alliance agreements.
• Draft and negotiate content licensing agreements for RAG models, LLM training, and other emerging AI technologies.
• Advise business leaders on contractual and regulatory risks involving new offerings, sales activities, marketing, and product development.
• Provide guidance on healthcare information technology, intellectual property, HIPAA/HITECH, GDPR, medical device regulations, and other healthcare laws.
• Manage outside counsel and collaborate with global legal teams, senior executives, and functional stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and J.D. or equivalent law degree.
• Admission to practice law in the state where the candidate resides.
• At least 7 years of progressively responsible corporate and commercial legal experience.
• Hands-on experience with healthcare transactional and regulatory matters, preferably including pharmaceutical matters.
• Strong understanding of healthcare information technology, digital health, software licensing, and SaaS subscriptions.
• Understanding of U.S. and EU healthcare laws and regulations, with interest in RAG, LLM, and AI technologies.
