TL;DR
Field Application Engineer - A&D (PCB Manufacturing): Supporting aerospace and defense customers with PCB design-for-manufacturing, stack-up, material selection, reliability, and signal-integrity analysis with an accent on PCB manufacturing processes and customer design support. Focus on resolving manufacturability issues, guiding QTA/NPI and production approvals, coordinating technical requirements across engineering and operations, and supporting ITAR-controlled programs.

Location: Remote - Connecticut; East Coast-based candidates preferred. Customer and TTM site travel required up to 25% of the time.

What you will do

  • Provide DFM and DFV support for new designs and existing PCB improvements, helping reduce design cycle time.
  • Review customer design packages, drawings, routing, layouts, stack-ups, materials, reliability requirements, and manufacturing notes.
  • Identify manufacturability and reliability issues and support stack-up, DFM, and TQ approvals through pre-production.
  • Present TTM capabilities and technology roadmaps to customer engineering and design groups.
  • Translate future customer technology needs into requirements for TTM engineering, operations, and manufacturing facilities.
  • Partner with sales account managers and customer teams to strengthen technical communication and support revenue growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related discipline preferred.
  • 5–7+ years of engineering experience related to PCB manufacturing preferred.
  • Strong PCB engineering background and knowledge of the complete PCB manufacturing process, including process flows, tooling, and pre-production.
  • Intermediate proficiency with PCB CAM software, drawing and blueprint interpretation, and PCB stack-up tools.
  • Experience with electrical design performance and signal integrity, including impedance, RF, and insertion loss.
  • Must comply with US export-control requirements; access to ITAR products and related technical data is restricted to US Citizens and US Permanent Residents.
