TL;DR
Signal Integrity Engineer (PCB): Improving signal and power integrity for high-density PCBs, packages, connectors, and probe cards with an accent on transmission-line behavior, impedance control, measurement, and production design analysis. Focus on correlating laboratory measurements with simulations, analyzing S-parameters and TDR data, and minimizing crosstalk, reflections, and EMI.

Location: Livermore, California, United States; hybrid work with some telecommuting permitted.

Salary: $134,056–$166,100 per year

Company

hirify.global develops semiconductor test and measurement solutions, including probe cards and related hardware.

What you will do

  • Improve signal integrity and power integrity performance through measurement, characterization, and production design analysis.
  • Perform laboratory measurements and correlate results with simulations to refine future models.
  • Model and design power distribution and high-density I/O for PCBs, packages, connectors, and probe cards.
  • Analyze reflections, bandwidth, crosstalk, and other signal integrity parameters.
  • Document signal integrity design constraints, specifications, and layout solutions for the Design Organization.
  • Support probe card development by strengthening signal integrity practices, shortening design cycles, and improving product quality.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience as a Signal Integrity Engineer or in a related occupation.
  • At least 1 year of experience with transmission line theory, impedance control, and stack-up design.
  • At least 1 year of experience analyzing board files with Cadence Allegro and measuring PCB S-parameters with a Vector Network Analyzer.
  • At least 1 year of experience using Time Domain Reflectometers, RF measurement micro probes, and S-parameter/TDR data to characterize PCBs.
  • At least 1 year of experience developing layout guidelines to minimize crosstalk, reflections, and EMI.

Culture & Benefits

  • Hybrid work arrangement with some telecommuting permitted.
  • Work within a design organization supporting semiconductor test hardware development.
  • Equal employment opportunity across recruitment, hiring, training, promotion, and compensation.
