Electrical Engineer (Renewables)

Location: Remote role associated with Charlotte, North Carolina, United States; regular work at the company’s office or work site and field assignments may be required.

Salary: $102,960–$154,440 per year.

What you will do

• Lead electrical engineering efforts for renewable energy projects and provide technical guidance.
• Develop, monitor, and manage electrical discipline scopes, evaluating changes and schedule impacts.
• Coordinate electrical designs with other engineering disciplines and client personnel.
• Review engineering documentation for accuracy, code compliance, and constructability.
• Prepare quotations, manage equipment and material purchase orders, and perform field assignments and factory inspections.
• Troubleshoot technical issues during design and construction and incorporate emerging renewable energy technologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• At least 6 years of engineering experience required.
• Must be acceptable to the State Board of Engineers for professional engineer licensure.
• Knowledge of medium- and low-voltage distribution, lighting, grounding, lightning protection, heat tracing, and electrical area classification.
• Experience applying NEC, IEEE, NEMA, and NFPA standards and conducting short-circuit, coordination, and arc-flash studies using SKM or ETAP.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, and ReCap; ability to write and read complex documents in English.

Nice to have

• ABET-accredited Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Professional Engineer license or PE qualification.
