Electrical Engineer III

Location: Remote within the following U.S. states: Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Michigan, Missouri, Nevada, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, and West Virginia. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Estimated annual pay range: Virginia $113,900–$137,700; Washington $124,800–$154,000.

What you will do

• Design electrical systems and perform design calculations for data centers, industrial buildings, offices, and other commercial construction projects.
• Review, sign, and seal engineering projects.
• Review submittals, RFIs, change orders, record drawings, inspections, and commissioning activities.
• Write and edit electrical equipment specifications and select equipment, systems, and devices.
• Collaborate with internal staff, clients, vendors, and external disciplines while maintaining project quality, deadlines, and budgets.
• Travel to job sites for observations and client meetings when required.

Requirements

• At least 4 years of electrical engineering design experience in the construction industry.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Experience designing power systems for data centers, commercial offices, manufacturing facilities, medical buildings, or other large commercial projects.
• Strong knowledge of National and International Building Codes and NFPA Standards.
• Advanced knowledge of equipment power requirements, large-scale standby and emergency power systems, and interactive generator control systems.
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities, mentor junior staff, and communicate effectively in writing and verbally.

Nice to have

• Electrical P.E. license or Engineering in Training certification.
• Experience producing Protective Device Coordination and Arc Flash studies.
• Experience selecting and specifying medium-voltage equipment.
