Professional Engineer, Electrical - Industrial Facility & Power Distribution

Location: Seattle, Washington, United States; hybrid workplace. Travel up to 10% may be required, including occasional overnight travel.

Salary: $125,975–$187,120 per year. The range reflects base pay for candidates with 10–20 years of related experience.

What you will do

• Lead electrical engineering efforts from concept through construction for new facilities and major renovations.
• Design industrial and commercial power systems, generators, EV charging infrastructure, and electrical distribution equipment.
• Develop interior and exterior lighting designs, site power plans, one-lines, panelboard schedules, conduit and cable layouts, and construction drawings.
• Support construction administration by responding to contractor RFIs, reviewing submittals, and performing site observations.
• Collaborate with Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Structural, and Architectural disciplines on Class I Railroad and Mass Transit projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Professional Engineer registration in Washington State, or the ability to obtain it within 12–18 months of employment.
• At least four years of progressive experience designing power, lighting, and signal systems for commercial and industrial facilities.
• Experience with panelboards, transformers, lighting, fire alarm, security, data systems, and 208/120V and 480/277V systems.
• Basic knowledge of the National Electrical Code and strong working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, multidisciplinary collaboration experience, and availability to travel as needed.

Nice to have

• Experience with private-owner underground or overhead medium-voltage site power distribution, including 13.8 kV systems.
• Experience designing motor and process equipment controls, including full-voltage motor control, soft starters, and variable frequency drives.
• Business development experience, including proposal scoping, fee estimates, and interview participation.
