TL;DR
Analyzer Technician (Petrochemical): Installing, maintaining, calibrating, troubleshooting, and repairing critical petrochemical and environmental analyzers with an accent on gas chromatography, infrared and ultraviolet detection, emissions monitoring, and process instrumentation. Focus on modifying analyzer systems, repairing wiring and tubing systems, troubleshooting control software and DCS loops, and maintaining safe plant operations.

Location: Stratton Ridge Rd, Freeport, Texas, United States; onsite work at petrochemical process plants, analyzer shelters, and pipeline facilities.

What you will do

  • Install, maintain, calibrate, troubleshoot, repair, and adjust plant-critical and environmental analyzers.
  • Work with gas chromatography, infrared and ultraviolet detection, emissions monitoring, oxygen measurement, conductivity analyzers, online spectrometers, flares, and water-discharge systems.
  • Perform analyzer system modifications, overhauls, pipefitting, tube blending, and tubing-system repairs.
  • Troubleshoot wiring circuits, data highway loops, analyzer control software, and complete measurement-to-DCS wiring loops.
  • Change calibration and carrier gas cylinders, work with vendors, source repair parts, and maintain calibration and equipment records.
  • Communicate equipment and project status while following safety, health, environmental, and housekeeping procedures.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED, plus five years of practical process instrumentation or analyzer experience in petrochemical, refinery, pulp and paper, or a related industry and completion of the ISA Instrument Technician Training Program or equivalent; alternatively, a two-year AAS technical degree in instrumentation, electronics, computer repair, process control, or a related field.
  • Experience with analyzer calibration, troubleshooting, wiring, tubing systems, and analyzer control software.
  • Working knowledge of Excel, Access, Visual Basic, and Basic programming.
  • Valid state driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle record.
  • Must be able to obtain a TWIC and access to facilities containing INEOS pipeline assets.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screening and background checks and remain subject to random drug testing.
