Salary: $220,000–$350,000 per year

What you will do

  • Manage and supervise local project managers, engineers, designers, and technical staff.
  • Direct technical deliverables and oversee delivery across multiple major projects or an organizational program.
  • Identify clients and business opportunities, support cross-selling, and collaborate with the business development team on Tier 1 clients.
  • Monitor project and client revenue, financial performance, budgets, forecasts, and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Coordinate staffing and resources, mentor employees, and maintain communication across the area, region, and corporate headquarters.
  • Support organizational strategy, annual sales goals, contract management, growth planning, client satisfaction, and industry engagement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent.
  • 15–20 years of leadership experience in regional or departmental roles within the rail engineering industry.
  • Experience with business development, project management, financial oversight, client relationships, contracts, and budgets.
  • Strong leadership, communication, presentation, strategic thinking, problem-solving, and resource-planning skills.
  • Active involvement in professional organizations, technical committees, or professional practice organizations.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree.
  • Experience presenting at industry conferences and contributing to thought leadership.
  • Membership or leadership in a national board, technical committee, or policy committee.
