Payroll Specialist BE & NL

Location: Can be based in Belgium, the Netherlands, or Asturias, Spain. Flexible home office opportunities are available.

What you will do

• Manage day-to-day payroll administration and operations for Belgium and the Netherlands.
• Coordinate payroll inputs, processing, validations, and outputs with vendors and internal stakeholders.
• Validate payroll data, statutory calculations, social security requirements, reporting, and country-specific obligations.
• Investigate payroll exceptions and discrepancies and coordinate timely resolution.
• Support employee lifecycle events, including hires, terminations, leaves, compensation changes, mobility events, and organizational changes.
• Maintain payroll documentation, controls, process maps, and standard operating procedures while supporting testing, audits, and process improvements.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience supporting Belgium payroll operations.
• Strong knowledge of Belgian payroll legislation, social security requirements, statutory reporting, and local payroll obligations.
• Working knowledge of Netherlands payroll practices or the ability to support Netherlands payroll through vendor partnership.
• Experience in manufacturing, unionized, or labor-intensive environments, including collective bargaining agreements and employee representative structures.
• Experience working with outsourced payroll providers or payroll vendors and managing payroll controls, compliance, and issue resolution.
• Strong business English required; Dutch and/or French is preferred depending on country coverage.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting payroll across both Belgium and the Netherlands.
• Experience with ADP, TMF, Workday, or similar payroll and HR technology platforms.
• Experience in food ingredients, specialty chemicals, life sciences, or industrial environments.
• Experience with carve-outs, business separations, mergers, acquisitions, transformation, automation, or payroll standardization initiatives.
