Senior Project Manager - Rail Engineering (Rail Infrastructure): Managing complex rail and transit engineering programs across scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk, and client expectations with an accent on multidisciplinary coordination, constructability, and safe project delivery. Location: Seattle, WA 98104; hybrid work arrangement with office and field assignments

Salary: $215,000–$300,000 per year

What you will do

  • Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, quality, risks, and client expectations.
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams through planning, design, construction support, and project closeout.
  • Monitor project performance and take corrective action when delivery, financial, or client objectives are at risk.
  • Support proposals, interviews, client presentations, business development, change management, and claims avoidance.
  • Coordinate with operations, safety, finance, contracts, leadership, agencies, freight railroads, contractors, and design teams.
  • Mentor project managers, engineers, and technical staff while maintaining safe, compliant, and high-quality delivery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an ABET/EAC-accredited program.
  • 15+ years of relevant experience, including 5+ years in project management.
  • Advanced project management and multidisciplinary coordination skills.
  • Experience delivering railroad, transit, or rail infrastructure projects.
  • Knowledge of rail engineering standards, safety, field coordination, and constructability.
  • Strong written, oral, executive communication, and complex issue-resolution skills.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification or equivalent.
  • Business development skills and established relationships with railroad clients.
  • In-depth knowledge of industry standards and guidelines.
  • Membership or leadership in a professional practice organization.
