Location: United States — Sacramento, Walnut Creek, or Folsom, California. Occasional in-office presence is required, along with travel for client meetings, site visits, field assessments, construction management, marketing pursuits, and internal meetings.

Expected compensation: $137,445–$223,125 annually.

What you will do

  • Manage client and design-team delivery for Class I railroad, freight, short line, commuter, and rail transit projects.
  • Plan, direct, supervise, and monitor multidisciplinary projects with complex technical requirements and large project teams.
  • Coordinate plans, specifications, construction estimates, and other project deliverables across multiple concurrent projects.
  • Serve as the primary client contact and participate in contractual, design, production, and coordination meetings.
  • Lead proposal development, marketing pursuits, and business development as a seller-doer project manager.
  • Implement QA/QC procedures, mentor project managers, coordinate staffing, and support personnel training.

Requirements

  • Must be legally able to work in the United States and hold a valid U.S. Driver’s License.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • At least 10 years of related experience, including a minimum of 5 years of project management experience.
  • Preferred: 15 years of railroad engineering experience managing multidisciplinary railway projects and teams in office and field environments.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local railway standards, project delivery processes, and Class I railroad public projects.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, estimating and scheduling software, project management software, and the ability to communicate and coordinate effectively with design teams.

Nice to have

  • Professional Engineering (PE) license.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Construction inspection or construction management experience.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation, OpenRoads/OpenRail, Primavera P3 or SureTrak, and Prolog.
