TL;DR
Senior Project Manager (Hazardous Building Materials): Managing hazardous building materials, industrial hygiene, indoor air quality, environmental compliance, and safety projects in Massachusetts and New England with an accent on client development, technical delivery, and project financial management. Focus on preparing proposals and budgets, coordinating clients, field staff, contractors, and regulators, designing abatement and remediation work, and mentoring junior staff.

Location: Boston, Massachusetts area; candidates may report from anywhere in Massachusetts. Travel throughout Massachusetts and New England and commuting to project sites are expected.

Salary: $120,000–$160,000 per year, plus potential participation in an annual discretionary bonus program.

What you will do

  • Develop new business and maintain client relationships across the greater Boston and New England markets.
  • Prepare proposals, budgets, and project plans for hazardous building materials, industrial hygiene, environmental compliance, and safety services.
  • Manage projects involving asbestos, lead, PCBs, universal waste, indoor air quality, and mold or moisture.
  • Coordinate clients, field staff, contractors, regulatory agencies, and internal account teams.
  • Prepare inspection and assessment reports and abatement or remedial designs.
  • Mentor and teach junior field staff while managing project profitability, invoicing, and cash flow.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or higher in science, engineering, safety, industrial hygiene, or a related field.
  • At least 8 years of experience managing hazardous building materials, indoor air quality, industrial hygiene, safety, or environmental compliance projects.
  • Experience in business development, client management, proposals, budgets, and revenue growth.
  • Strong written, verbal, communication, and technical skills, with flexibility for emergency response schedules.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to commute to project sites and travel throughout Massachusetts and New England.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen, background check, motor vehicle records check, and physical examination.

Nice to have

  • CIH, CHMM, CSP, or CMC certification.
  • MADLS Asbestos and Lead Inspector and Project Designer licenses or related experience.
