TL;DR

Systems Engineer (Linux) (Linux infrastructure): Deploying, configuring, and maintaining Linux servers for customer-facing and internal applications in data center environments with an accent on uptime, security, monitoring, and automation. Focus on creating standardized operating system templates, automating virtual machine deployments, supporting Apache Tomcat applications, and implementing disaster recovery practices.

What you will do

Deploy, configure, maintain, and secure Linux servers in data center environments.
Monitor server health and uptime, manage disaster recovery, and perform performance tuning and troubleshooting.
Create standardized operating system templates and automate virtual machine deployments.
Support technical design, planning, and implementation of server and software rollouts.
Handle change requests, support tickets, monitoring, problem triage, and server documentation.
Adopt DevOps practices and automation to simplify operational tasks.

Requirements

5+ years of experience supporting Linux servers in a production environment.
Strong Linux installation, configuration, and administration skills, particularly with Red Hat and CentOS.
Experience with shell scripting, Perl, or Python and automation tools such as Ansible.
Knowledge of VMware, networking, storage, operating system security, and server hardening.
Experience supporting web-based applications running on Apache Tomcat.
Experience working in multi-platform, multi-data-center IT environments and producing clear technical documentation.

Nice to have

Administration experience with AIX, Solaris, or Windows Server.
Experience with Octopus, Jenkins, Git, Red Hat Satellite, Katello Foreman, FreeIPA/RH IDM, or Spacewalk.
Experience with monitoring tools such as Icinga, New Relic, Opsview, or Zabbix.
Experience implementing disaster recovery methodologies.
A degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
