Datacenter Networks Engineer (Palo Alto)

Location: Madrid (Hubs Spain), hybrid work with days at home and days at the ING MAD office

What you will do

• Implement, configure, modify, and further develop network infrastructure for ING’s cloud platforms.
• Assess network designs from technical implementation and security perspectives.
• Manage and continuously improve incident, problem, change, and configuration management processes.
• Collaborate with the Product Owner, squad members, other squads, and the broader tribe in an agile environment.
• Provide reporting, technical guidance, and trusted-advisor support to improve service quality and customer satisfaction.
• Create and improve documentation and work instructions for delivered infrastructure solutions.

Requirements

• Experience implementing, configuring, and modifying network infrastructure.
• Broad knowledge of LAN, WAN, and datacenter environments, including routing and switching protocols in highly available environments.
• Extensive experience with firewall products, preferably Palo Alto Networks firewalls and PCNSA/PCNSE certification.
• Experience with scripting in Python, Bash, PowerShell, or JavaScript, and with infrastructure orchestration tools such as Terraform, Ansible, SaltStack, Chef, Puppet, Azure Automation, or cloud deployment tools.
• Working-level knowledge of Agile, Scrum, and DevOps practices, including continuous delivery and cross-functional ways of working.
• Bachelor’s degree in IT or a related discipline, networking and security proficiency, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and excellent spoken and written English.

Nice to have

• Experience with cloud deployment and infrastructure services.
• Experience or knowledge of Open Networking platforms.
• Relevant networking, security, or programming certifications.
