Manager - Planning T&D

Location: Full-time in-office in Orange, Connecticut, United States

Salary: $150,000–$185,200 annually, depending on experience

What you will do

• Lead and develop the transmission and distribution planning engineering team.
• Assess current and future grid needs and develop short- and long-range reliability and capacity plans.
• Define and prioritize system solutions and distribution capital investments based on risk, impact, value, and complexity.
• Manage investment pipelines aligned with regulatory requirements, customer expectations, and corporate strategies.
• Lead rate cases, regulatory dockets, and expert testimony related to system planning.
• Oversee distributed energy resource interconnection studies and initiatives involving beneficial electrification, energy storage, data centers, and non-wires solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; Electrical Engineering is preferred.
• At least 8 years of experience in transmission and distribution system planning, engineering, or operations.
• Leadership experience managing cross-functional teams and implementing complex initiatives.
• Knowledge of utility operations and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to interpret engineering documentation and review and approve engineering work.
• Strong communication, presentation, strategy development, and implementation skills.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
