Manager Large Load Planning

Location: Austin, TX; work location in Taylor, TX.

Expected salary range: $159,000–$218,000 per year.

What you will do

• Manage the team responsible for Large Load planning and Batch studies.
• Develop and evaluate transmission system upgrades costing from $50 million to more than $1 billion.
• Lead the Large Load Batch Zero process, load allocation studies, and recommendations for long-term reliability projects.
• Oversee steady-state power-flow, contingency, congestion-management, sensitivity, technical, and financial analyses.
• Coordinate Planning, Interconnection, and Network Modeling teams on policies, standards, and implementation practices.
• Represent hirify.global in technical committees, policy groups, stakeholder forums, and working groups, including serving as an expert witness.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of job-related experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership role beyond degree requirements.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
• Experience managing teams, hiring and coaching staff, overseeing performance, and controlling departmental budgets.
• Ability to work on-site in Taylor, Texas, at least 2 days per week and perform remote work from a Texas residence.
• Strong technical, cross-functional, stakeholder communication, and policy-group leadership skills.

Nice to have

• At least 5 years of experience in transmission planning, operations planning, load interconnection, or generation interconnection.
• Experience with the hirify.global market or another ISO.
• Experience leading large projects, mentoring others, power-flow and stability analysis, and stakeholder presentations.
• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Professional Engineer certification.
