General Liability Senior Technical Specialist (Insurance)

Location: Las Vegas, Nevada, United States; hybrid schedule

Salary: $94,400–$155,800 annual base salary. Eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $20,000.

What you will do

• Handle severe General Liability bodily injury and property damage claims throughout the full claim life cycle.
• Investigate liability, damages, coverage, recovery potential, and contribution opportunities using internal and external resources.
• Establish reserves, evaluate claims, negotiate settlements, and resolve claims within delegated authority.
• Manage litigated claims, including counsel selection, litigation strategy, discovery, legal expenses, depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
• Apply claim quality protocols, maintain accurate files, conduct trend analysis, and ensure timely claim handling.
• Provide technical consultation, coaching, mentoring, and training to less experienced claims professionals and business partners.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree, or a high school diploma/GED with at least three years of bodily injury litigation claim handling or comparable claim litigation experience.
• At least four years of bodily injury litigation claim handling experience preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of coverage, liability, damages analysis, insurance contracts, investigation principles, and value determination.
• Thorough understanding of litigation processes, relevant case and statutory law, policy language, exclusions, ISO forms, and claims-handling practices.
• Advanced negotiation and litigation management skills, with strong judgment, communication, customer service, coaching, and technology skills.
• Insurance licenses may be required and generally must be obtained within three months of starting the job, with continuing education as required.
