Trial Attorney (Insurance Defense)

Location: Scottsdale, Arizona, United States; flexible hybrid work schedule with possible work-from-home staffing depending on office needs.

Salary: $108,000–$200,000 annually; expected starting range: $108,000–$162,000.

What you will do

• Represent clients as lead counsel in property and casualty insurance defense or subrogation matters under commercial and personal lines policies.
• Handle civil litigation cases ranging from low to moderate complexity across assigned courts, agencies, and jurisdictions.
• Apply trial advocacy skills in arbitration and trial proceedings, independently or as part of a larger legal team.
• Manage a productive caseload, including case valuations, legal strategy, documentation, deadlines, and client communications.
• Monitor changes in law, local rules, technology, and procedural requirements affecting liability and recovery litigation.
• Collaborate with paralegals, claims professionals, attorneys, and internal stakeholders to deliver efficient case management.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
• Active license in the state where the position is located.
• Typically more than three years of relevant civil litigation experience in property and casualty insurance defense or subrogation.
• Moderate litigation experience, strong legal research and analytical skills, and effective written and verbal communication.
• Strong negotiation, organization, time-management, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
• Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record; credit and/or background checks are required as part of selection.
