TL;DR
Manufacturing Technology Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer (PLC/DCS and Industrial Power Systems): Providing plant engineering and troubleshooting support for synthesis, refining, storage, and shipping operations with an accent on process safety, reliability, and electrical and instrumentation systems. Focus on diagnosing hazardous-process issues, supporting capital installations, and improving PLC, DCS, power distribution, interlock, measurement, and control systems.

Location: Corpus Christi Plant, Ingleside, Texas, United States; onsite plant support with shift/weekend coverage as needed

Annual pay range: $77,644–$121,320 USD, plus a 6% annual bonus target.

What you will do

  • Provide electrical and instrumentation engineering guidance for plant operations, maintenance, and technology teams.
  • Troubleshoot synthesis, refining, storage, and shipping processes to improve safety, operability, quality, reliability, and cost.
  • Scope, justify, coordinate, and support cost and capital projects involving new or modified facilities.
  • Specify and maintain PLC, interlock, DCS, electrical distribution, motor control, switchgear, relay, measurement, control valve, motor, and variable-speed-drive systems.
  • Lead and participate in safety, reliability, and quality investigations and implement continuous-improvement actions.
  • Provide coverage for start-ups, tests, maintenance turnarounds, and other non-routine plant needs; travel is under 10%.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
  • Entry-level industrial or manufacturing experience, including co-op, internship, or military-equivalent experience.
  • Ability to diagnose technical problems, make data-based decisions, and manage emergencies, deadlines, and multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with strong written, oral, and customer-focused communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and similar business software.
  • Ability to work in a plant environment and wear required PPE, including steel-toe footwear, hard hat, Nomex, eye protection, and respirators.

Nice to have

  • At least one year of related industrial or manufacturing experience and experience supporting field personnel with operations troubleshooting.
  • Experience with RCFA, PSM, Probability of Failure analysis, LOPA, PLC systems, power systems analysis, NEC, ISA, and engineered solutions.
  • Experience applying Lean methodologies to maintenance processes and supporting business-system implementation.
