Location: Remote, with a combination of office, customer-site, and field environments; travel of 50% or more is required, including extended assignments during outages and project execution.
Estimated starting salary: $150,000–$173,000 annually, paid bi-weekly. Required travel may be compensated at the equivalent hourly rate with overtime and per diem for qualifying hours.

What you will do
- Lead planning, coordination, and oversight of mechanical maintenance, inspection, repair, installation, troubleshooting, commissioning, outage, and specialty project work.
- Provide mechanical technical leadership and ensure work complies with customer requirements, plant procedures, OEM recommendations, applicable codes, safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Define project scopes, technical requirements, staffing needs, schedules, estimates, bids, and execution strategies with customers and internal teams.
- Build, assess, mobilize, and continuously improve high-performing union mechanical crews.
- Develop technical training, qualification, workforce development, and leadership pipelines for craft professionals and specialists.
- Build relationships with utility customers, plant leadership, union halls, labor partners, field personnel, and internal Operations, Training, Recruiting, Sales, and Project Management teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Power Plant Technology, Industrial Technology, Engineering Technology, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent education and relevant experience.
- 7+ years of experience in mechanical maintenance, outage execution, or specialty field services within nuclear, power generation, energy, or heavy industrial environments.
- Experience leading union craft workforces and building or mobilizing crews for maintenance, outage, construction, or field-service work.
- Strong mechanical expertise, customer-facing communication, workforce planning, scheduling, resource allocation, estimating, and execution-planning skills.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, OEM specifications, work packages, and technical documentation.
- Valid driver’s license; ability to travel 50% or more, work extended hours or shifts, provide on-call support, obtain unescorted access authorization for commercial nuclear plants, and work safely in industrial environments.
Nice to have
- Commercial nuclear power plant and scheduled outage experience.
- Established relationships with union halls, craft organizations, or labor partners.
- Experience with technical training, qualification, apprenticeship, or workforce development programs.
- Familiarity with ASME, EPRI, INPO, OEM guidance, and nuclear or mechanical industry standards.
- Experience developing long-term customer relationships and supporting new business opportunities.
