Target salary: $87,107–$105,129 annually. Full salary range: $78,096–$122,149 annually.

What you will do
- Perform thermal-hydraulic analyses of NSSS fluid systems using engineering software and analytical tools.
- Evaluate system design and performance, including transient operations and engineering calculations.
- Prepare, check, and review calculations and reports related to flow-induced vibration.
- Apply thermal-hydraulics and structural-mechanics fundamentals to engineering evaluations.
- Coordinate design activities with colleagues and other engineering disciplines to resolve technical problems.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably mechanical engineering.
- At least two years of full-time engineering experience as a thermal-hydraulic engineer.
- Experience with system-performance and transient analyses, including water hammer, high-energy line break, steam-generator heat transfer, and compartment heating or pressurization.
- Experience with RELAP, ANSYS Mechanical or CFD, GOTHIC, and standard office software.
- Experience analyzing flow-induced vibration mechanisms, vibration testing, and data analysis.
- Eligibility to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810 is required.
Nice to have
- Registered Engineer-in-Training certification.
- Programming skills in Python or Matlab.
