TL;DR
General Engineer - T&S Engineering Programs (Electrical Reliability): Executing reliability engineering programs for Exelon’s electric generation, transmission, distribution, gas, and telecommunications systems with an accent on translating engineering strategies into field-ready scopes, schedules, and technical work plans. Focus on coordinating cross-functional execution, resolving commissioning and implementation issues, and managing technical risks, dependencies, and regulatory requirements.

Location: Hybrid role based in Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois, United States

Annual salary: $92,000–$126,500, plus an eligible 15% annual bonus.

What you will do

  • Execute reliability engineering programs by translating approved engineering strategies, recommendations, and designs into actionable scopes, schedules, and technical work plans.
  • Coordinate Operations, Field, Construction & Maintenance, T&S Engineering, and other stakeholders to resolve technical constraints, sequencing, constructability, and operational issues.
  • Develop technical execution documentation, including scopes of work, engineering summaries, work strategies, field guidance, readiness materials, and post-execution records.
  • Monitor initiative progress, identify risks and dependencies, and recommend corrective actions or escalations.
  • Provide technical support during implementation, including field questions, installation, testing, commissioning, and resolution of execution-phase issues.
  • Prepare studies, plans, specifications, calculations, evaluations, cost estimates, budgets, and performance assessments for energy infrastructure and systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or a Professional Engineer license issued by the state where the work is performed.
  • 4–7 years of professional engineering experience, with broad knowledge of engineering principles, standards, codes, regulations, and practices.
  • Ability to analyze complex electrical and mechanical systems and apply engineering theory and structured problem-solving approaches.
  • Knowledge of engineering design principles, practices, and complex field test equipment.
  • Strong written, oral, teamwork, interpersonal, and stakeholder communication skills.
  • Ability to work extended hours during storms or other energy delivery emergencies when required.

Nice to have

  • Graduate degree or graduate-level work in Engineering or Business Administration.
  • Project Management certification.
  • Professional Engineer license.
  • Engineer in Training status or multiple related technical career experiences.
