Licensing Engineer 4 (Nuclear Licensing)

Location: Remote within the contiguous United States; full-time employees residing within 30 miles of the Houston or Corvallis offices must meet the in-office requirement. Domestic and international travel is required as business needs dictate.

Target annual pay: $136,819–$165,126; full annual range: $122,665–$191,861.

What you will do

• Provide senior licensing direction and technical regulatory guidance for complex nuclear projects.
• Develop, prepare, edit, and review large nuclear license applications and regulatory submittals.
• Develop regulatory strategies using technical information, industry guidance, codes, and standards.
• Support regulatory meetings, hearings, licensing programs, schedules, and legal processes for licenses and permits.
• Interface with regulatory agencies, clients, industry groups, cross-functional teams, and NuScale management.
• Implement compliant processes, procedures, lessons learned, and industry best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, engineering technology, or science; an advanced degree is preferred.
• At least 10 years of licensing experience in the nuclear industry, or 8 years with an advanced degree.
• Experience with nuclear power plants, reactor suppliers, nuclear architect-engineering firms, or relevant nuclear, engineering, legal, regulatory, or Navy nuclear work.
• Eligibility to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810 is required.
• Knowledge of nuclear licensing areas such as COLA and nuclear construction, site characterization, environmental, seismic and structural matters, ITP and ITAAC, emergency planning, radiological engineering, or ASME BPVC Sections II, III, and XI.
• Strong written and oral communication, planning, problem-solving, independent judgment, and organizational skills.
