Project Engineer (Chemical Manufacturing)

Location: Rock Hill, South Carolina, United States; primarily based at a manufacturing facility with periodic field work and construction site visits

What you will do

• Lead and manage capital and process improvement projects from conception through completion.
• Plan, organize, and coordinate project execution within established timelines, budgets, technical requirements, and safety standards.
• Prepare capital requests, project scopes, cost estimates, change management documentation, reports, KPIs, and funding updates.
• Develop equipment specifications and data sheets for process equipment, instrumentation, controls, and electrical systems.
• Coordinate contractors, vendors, operations, process development, engineering, production, and other stakeholders.
• Support construction activities, field execution, safety reviews, project turnover, and delivery of operating and maintenance documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• At least 5 years of experience in chemical manufacturing, oil and gas, pharmaceutical, or chemical processing.
• At least 5 years of experience managing or supporting engineering projects in an industrial manufacturing environment.
• Unrestricted right to work for hirify.global in the United States is required.
• Strong project management, organizational, analytical, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
• Regular plant, field, construction, and safety inspection activities are required; appropriate PPE must be used in operational areas.

Nice to have

• Experience managing capital projects in chemical manufacturing.
• Experience preparing equipment specifications and technical documentation.
• Knowledge of pumps, compressors, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, instrumentation, controls, and electrical systems.
• Experience with Management of Change processes and construction management.
• Familiarity with RCRA-regulated materials and waste management requirements.
