Chemical Engineer

Location: Washington Works site in Parkersburg, West Virginia, United States; onsite manufacturing role

Salary: $85,801–$134,064 annually, plus an 8% annual bonus target

What you will do

• Provide Chemical Engineering guidance and support to Operations, Maintenance, and Technology teams in polymer operations.
• Troubleshoot day-to-day plant issues involving reactors, pumps, piping, tanks, dryers, heat exchangers, filtration, scrubbing, and extrusion equipment.
• Recommend and implement improvements in yield, uptime, reliability, cost, and safety.
• Lead and participate in incident investigations and Process Hazards Analyses.
• Lead capital projects for operational improvements and provide environmental support.
• Travel less than 10% of the time.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering.
• At least two years of engineering experience.
• Basic knowledge of equipment used in chemical plants, including pumps, compressors, piping, distillation columns, reactors, and refrigeration machines.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Ability and willingness to wear required PPE, including steel-toe footwear, hard hat, Nomex, eye protection, and respirators.
• Immigration sponsorship, including H-1B, F-1 OPT, and TN visas, is not available.

Nice to have

• Five or more years of experience in chemical manufacturing processes.
• Experience leading or participating in Process Hazards Analyses.
• Six Sigma Green Belt certification or higher.
