Project Engineer (Chemical Plant Capital Projects)

What you will do

• Support Project Managers as a technical expert on larger capital projects and directly manage smaller projects from development through completion.
• Lead engineering activities from basic and detailed design through construction, commissioning, start-up, and normal operation.
• Define project scope, budgets, schedules, execution plans, risks, KPIs, estimates, and cash-flow forecasts.
• Direct engineering firms, contractors, procurement activities, bid packages, work awards, and change-order management.
• Ensure designs and installations meet safety standards, company guidance, applicable codes, and engineering integrity requirements.
• Coordinate with operations, maintenance, site engineering, procurement, and construction teams while maintaining project documentation and technical records.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
• At least 5 years of chemical plant experience; project experience is strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of applicable codes and standards, including ASME, API, ASTM, ANSI, and NEC.
• Experience with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint; SAP experience is required.
• Experience with scheduling software such as Microsoft Project.
• Strong communication, influencing, leadership, organization, change-management, and team-building skills, with a strong commitment to safety.
