TL;DR
Senior Pipeline Engineer (Oil & Gas): Designing and delivering gas and liquid pipeline projects, compressor stations, and metering stations with an accent on pipeline integrity, regulatory compliance, and construction execution. Focus on developing alignment sheets, flow and wall-thickness calculations, crossing designs, project scopes, cost estimates, schedules, and integrity management solutions.

Location: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States; candidates may work from any hirify.global office nationwide and must be able to work onsite as projects dictate.

Salary: USD $68,328–$136,011.20 per year, with potential eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus.

What you will do

  • Design and support construction of gas and liquid pipelines, compressor stations, and metering stations.
  • Perform pipeline flow, volume, wall-thickness, buoyancy-control, crossing, and right-of-way analyses.
  • Develop alignment sheets, station layouts, piping plans, PFDs, P&IDs, equipment specifications, and datasheets.
  • Prepare project scopes, execution plans, cost estimates, schedules, RFQs, construction bid documents, and bid evaluations.
  • Support pipeline construction procedures, including purging, packing, dehydrating, inspection, anomaly repair, and integrity management.
  • Monitor construction schedules, costs, project controls, progress, and forecasts across multiple projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or applied science from an EAC/ABET-approved institution.
  • At least 10 years of experience in US pipelines is required.
  • Strong knowledge of pipeline design codes B31.4 and B31.8 and relevant recommended practices.
  • Experience with engineering, procurement, and construction projects, pipeline integrity, permitting, environmental considerations, and safety.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, teamwork, and proficiency with word-processing and spreadsheet programs.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, travel as project requirements dictate, and demonstrate a basic understanding of CADD.

  • Professional Engineer license and ability to become licensed in multiple states.
