TL;DR
Senior Pipeline Engineer (Oil & Gas): Designing and supporting gas and liquid pipeline, compressor station, and metering station projects with an accent on pipeline integrity, regulatory compliance, and construction execution. Focus on developing alignment sheets, flow and wall-thickness calculations, crossing designs, project controls, and field procedures for complex oil and gas infrastructure.

Location: Houston, Texas; candidates may work from any TRC office nationwide, with onsite work and travel as projects dictate.

Salary: USD $91,748.80–$140,000 per year, plus potential annual discretionary bonus.

What you will do

  • Design and support oil and gas pipeline, compressor station, metering station, and related EPC projects.
  • Perform pipeline flow-rate, volume, wall-thickness, buoyancy-control, crossing, and right-of-way analyses.
  • Develop alignment sheets, equipment specifications, data sheets, RFQs, construction bid documents, scopes, execution plans, estimates, and schedules.
  • Support pipeline integrity management, internal inspections, anomaly repairs, construction, purging, packing, and dehydration procedures.
  • Apply DOT Class Location requirements, ASME B31.4 and B31.8 codes, and recommended pipeline design practices.
  • Monitor construction schedules, costs, project progress, forecasts, and general project controls while coordinating with clients and project teams.

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of experience with US pipeline projects.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or applied science from an EAC/ABET-approved institution, such as mechanical, civil, or pipeline engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of pipeline design and construction, station layouts, piping plans, PFDs, P&IDs, compressors, pumps, motors, metering, storage, piping, and automation systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, problem-solving, attention to detail, teamwork, and technical reporting skills.
  • Proficiency with PC operation, word-processing and spreadsheet programs, and basic CADD.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, travel, and perform onsite duties as required by project needs.

  • Professional Engineer license and ability to obtain licenses in multiple states.
