Category Manager (Global Sourcing)

Location: New Brighton, Minnesota, or Hanover, New Hampshire, United States. Relocation assistance is available for Hanover, NH. Travel: 20–40% domestic and international.

Salary: $93,936–$156,562 annual base pay.

What you will do

• Define, document, and drive category strategies for fabricated metal, formed metal, machined metal, and machined non-metal.
• Lead supplier performance reviews, supplier searches, qualification processes, reductions, and terminations.
• Negotiate supplier contracts while aligning requirements across Legal, Finance, Operations, and Logistics.
• Assess and mitigate supplier risks and maintain assurance-of-supply processes.
• Identify and support cost savings opportunities, including total-cost-of-ownership and make-or-buy analyses.
• Provide project management support for procurement initiatives and develop procurement tools and processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain Management, or Engineering, with at least 7 years of supply chain experience.
• Proven project management experience and the ability to lead cross-functional teams.
• Strong negotiation, interpersonal, written, verbal, analytical, and presentation skills.
• Experience with supplier risk, contracts, regulations, legal requirements, cost-benefit analysis, inventory holding costs, and cost of capital.
• Working knowledge of Lean concepts, complex value stream mapping, PFMEAs, and statistical methods.
• Availability for 20–40% domestic and international travel.

Nice to have

• Experience as a hirify.global Category Specialist or Category Manager.
• Knowledge of Oracle and/or Insight purchasing modules.
• Knowledge of Lean/JIT methodology, ISM or APICS certification, or Green/Black Belt certification.
• Experience managing the listed sourcing categories.
