Product Manager (Genomics)

Location: San Diego, United States; on-site

Salary: $150,000–$205,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.

What you will do

• Own product strategy and roadmap for the target detection platform.
• Translate clinician, laboratory director, and key opinion leader feedback into prioritized product requirements.
• Partner with engineering, assay, software, regulatory, quality, operations, and commercial teams across RUO, LDT, and IVD development phases.
• Develop positioning, messaging, value propositions, business cases, financial models, and competitive analyses.
• Drive go-to-market planning, including pricing, channels, launch readiness, sales enablement, training, and KOL engagement.
• Track post-launch adoption, customer feedback, commercial performance, and product success metrics.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, biomedical engineering, business, or a related discipline.
• 8+ years of product management and/or product marketing experience in diagnostics or life sciences.
• Experience bringing products from concept through commercialization.
• Hands-on experience with IVD and Laboratory Developed Tests, including their product and commercial requirements.
• Experience with Voice of Customer research, product requirements, business cases, financial models, competitive analysis, and go-to-market strategy.
• Strong cross-functional leadership and communication skills, with experience working across R&D, regulatory, clinical, commercial, and executive stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Direct experience in molecular diagnostics, especially sepsis or pathogen identification.
• Familiarity with clinical microbiology, infectious disease testing workflows, and buyer dynamics.
• Experience with clinical-utility content, health-economic and ROI models, KOL engagement, and clinical-evidence strategy.
• MBA or another advanced degree.
• Experience at an early-stage or scaling diagnostics company.
