Director, Product Management, Integrated Clinical Solutions (Genomics)

Location: San Diego, California, United States; onsite. Approximately 25% travel is required.

Base salary: $187,400–$281,000 per year, plus eligible bonus or commission and potential equity.

What you will do

• Define and maintain the product strategy, roadmap, and business plan for an integrated clinical solution spanning instrumentation, software, and assay content.
• Translate customer insights, market dynamics, competitive intelligence, and product performance data into requirements and strategic priorities.
• Lead product definition, feature prioritization, positioning, pricing input, business modeling, forecasting, launches, and sustaining activities across the lifecycle.
• Align R&D, platform, assay, software, regulatory, quality, systems integration, operations, marketing, medical affairs, and regional stakeholders.
• Build and develop a team of product managers while directly owning strategic, cross-cutting initiatives and product decisions.
• Conduct market research, customer interviews, voice-of-customer studies, and competitive analysis; maintain relationships with customers, KOLs, and partners.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, molecular biology, engineering, genomics, or a related field, with the required combination of relevant experience; an advanced degree or MBA is preferred.
• At least 18 years of related experience, 10+ years of management experience, and 8+ years of product management experience; alternative experience thresholds apply for a master’s degree or PhD.
• Experience leading product strategy and execution for complex, multi-component products or systems.
• Experience developing, launching, and sustaining products in IVD environments, with strong knowledge of clinical customers and laboratory workflows.
• Demonstrated success managing and developing high-performing teams and influencing senior stakeholders across a matrixed organization.
• Strong time and project management, prioritization, communication, executive presentation, systems thinking, and decision-making skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with integrated solutions combining instrumentation, software, and assay or content portfolios.
• Experience with next-generation sequencing or molecular diagnostics technologies.
• Familiarity with global regulatory and reimbursement environments for clinical products.
• Experience building market models, business cases, or pricing frameworks for clinical or diagnostic offerings.
