Head of Software Engineering, EUR (AI): Leading software engineering teams and delivering complex technology solutions, including LLM-powered agentic systems, with an accent on AI-assisted engineering, architecture, and responsible governance. Focus on building AI product capabilities, improving software delivery practices, and solving organizational and technical challenges across the engineering function.
Location: SRY - Redhill, United Kingdom; hybrid work with three days per week in the office and two days at home

What you will do
- Lead software engineering teams through technical guidance, mentorship, and leadership development.
- Partner with business leaders to set strategic direction, create product roadmaps, and oversee large technology programs.
- Champion AI-assisted development practices, including code generation, testing, and code review.
- Lead the design and delivery of LLM-powered agentic solutions supporting EUR Technology’s AI product capabilities.
- Establish responsible AI governance covering model risk, data handling, transparency, and human oversight.
- Improve engineering standards, SDLC practices, technical metrics, architecture resilience, and organization-wide capabilities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- At least seven years of programming or software development experience.
- At least five years of technical leadership experience and ten years of related experience overall.
- Experience in the insurance or financial services industry.
- Experience with current technology practices, including cloud-based solutions and microservices.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, architecture, delivery, and organizational leadership skills.
