Software Development Manager (Generative AI)

What you will do

• Manage a team of Software Development Engineers on the Rufus Agentic team.
• Partner with product, program, engineering, science, economics, and leadership teams to clarify requirements.
• Build execution plans and define tactical actions to unblock delivery.
• Set a strategic quarterly and annual vision to improve team efficiency and solution quality.
• Lead development of conversational shopping and search experiences using generative AI and large language models.

Requirements

• Experience managing high-calibre Software Engineers developing complex, scalable software systems delivered to customers.
• Experience designing or architecting new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
• Experience leading the definition and development of multi-tier web services.
• Knowledge of engineering practices across the full software, hardware, and network development lifecycle.
• Experience with coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, certification, and live-site operations.
• Experience partnering with product and program management teams.

Nice to have

• Experience communicating technical designs, software features, and product strategy to users, technical teams, and senior leadership.
• Experience recruiting, hiring, mentoring, coaching, and managing Software Engineers.
• Experience delivering products in fast-paced, multidisciplinary, distributed-responsibility, and ambiguous environments.
