Senior Counsel - Privacy, Cybersecurity and AI

Location: Hybrid for candidates near Baltimore, Cedar Rapids, Denver, or Philadelphia with 3 days in office; remote for candidates not near a core office location. U.S. bar admission required.

Salary: $165,000–$195,000 annually, plus potential annual bonus.

What you will do

• Handle complex privacy, cybersecurity, and AI legal matters independently as part of the privacy team.
• Advise stakeholders on global regulatory requirements and translate legal obligations into practical implementation strategies.
• Support global AI governance initiatives by reviewing AI use cases and implementing governance frameworks.
• Manage privacy operations including PIAs, DPIAs, DSARs, RoPAs, and third-party privacy risk management.
• Draft, review, and negotiate data processing and data transfer agreements.
• Develop privacy and AI compliance frameworks, deliver regulatory training, coordinate outside counsel, and respond to regulatory inquiries.

Requirements

• JD from an ABA-accredited law school or equivalent legal experience.
• Licensed to practice law in the U.S.
• At least 5 years of global privacy legal experience and 2 years of AI governance experience.
• Expertise in privacy, cybersecurity, and AI regulations including CCPA, GLB, HIPAA, NAIC AI Model Bulletin, NYDFS, Colorado AI Act, GDPR, PIPEDA, and LOPD.
• Strong technical fluency in AI, data, and cybersecurity concepts.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to influence without direct authority.

Nice to have

• 7 years of global privacy legal experience, preferably in financial services.
• Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) or comparable certification.
