Shift Supervisor (Advanced Materials)

Location: Akron, Ohio, United States; regular presence in the chemical manufacturing plant required

hirify.global Corporation operates the Advanced Materials division supporting industrial chemical manufacturing operations.

What you will do

• Lead and supervise plant personnel during assigned shifts, communicating work assignments, priorities, and departmental objectives.
• Coordinate plant operations, maintenance activities, support functions, work schedules, and operator certifications.
• Serve as Operations Coordinator, Incident Commander, and emergency response liaison during assigned shifts and plant emergencies.
• Troubleshoot issues involving plant utilities and production equipment and oversee Boilerhouse operations.
• Train, coach, and develop operators on standard operating procedures and safe work practices.
• Conduct Lockout/Tagout audits, lead safety observations and meetings, prepare reports, and support continuous improvement projects.

Requirements

• Associate degree in Process Technology or a related technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least 5 years of experience in petrochemicals, manufacturing operations, maintenance, or a similar industrial environment.
• Experience supporting production operations in an industrial manufacturing setting.
• Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, decision-making, organizational, and employee development skills.
• Unrestricted right to work for hirify.global in the United States is required.
• Medical qualification to wear required PPE, including a full-face respirator, and compliance with site-specific physical requirements are required.

Nice to have

• Experience supervising unionized employees in chemical or industrial manufacturing.
• Knowledge of emergency response procedures and incident command systems.
• Training or certification in confined space entry, hot work, or Lockout/Tagout procedures.
• Experience with maintenance coordination, operational scheduling, SAP, CMMS, or similar work order systems.
• Lean Six Sigma, formal leadership training, or supervisory development certification.
