Shift Supervisor (Boiler Operations)

Location: Rahway, New Jersey, USA; onsite rotating shifts

Salary: $118,700–$169,800 USD per annum

What you will do

• Supervise the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of high-pressure boilers, turbines, steam plant systems, and supporting equipment.
• Conduct plant rounds and direct shift, daily, weekly, and monthly inspections and housekeeping activities.
• Respond to injuries, accidents, emergencies, and abnormal operating conditions, taking action to restore safe operation.
• Approve equipment clearances, lockout/tagout procedures, and safety permits.
• Troubleshoot operational issues, coordinate maintenance activities, and improve facility performance, reliability, and efficiency.
• Lead assigned operations projects and train, mentor, and develop shift personnel.

Requirements

• Three or more years of supervisory experience in a heavy industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Active New Jersey Operating Engineer/Boiler Operator license required, including Black Seal, Blue Seal, Red Seal, or an equivalent license appropriate to the facility equipment.
• Hands-on experience with high-pressure boilers and electric generating equipment.
• Detailed knowledge of steam-generating power plant operations, instrumentation, and control systems.
• High school diploma or GED required; a Bachelor of Science degree is preferred.
• Ability to work rotating day and night shifts, including weekends, holidays, outage periods, and vacation coverage. Physical ability to climb, work at heights and in confined spaces, lift up to 50 pounds, work in varying weather conditions, and qualify to wear a full-face respirator is required.

• Experience in power plant or resource recovery operations.
