Junior Environmental Scientist (Environmental Solutions)

Location: Local to Denver, Colorado, with frequent extended travel and emergency response deployments.

Salary: $38,500–$52,000 per year, commensurate with experience, skills, and geographic location.

What you will do

• Participate in emergency response teams conducting environmental sampling and data collection.
• Investigate pollutants and hazards affecting the environment or population health.
• Gather, monitor, analyze, and report on samples from air, food, soil, water, and other potential contamination sources.
• Maintain, calibrate, and mobilize equipment and company-issued PPE for emergency response activities.
• Compile, review, and summarize scientific, technical, and literature-based data.
• Respond to client requests, including on-call rotations, immediate travel, overtime, and weekend deployments.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in biology, environmental engineering, environmental health and safety, industrial hygiene, chemistry, chemical engineering, toxicology, or a related science; 1–3 years of related experience may substitute for the degree.
• Advanced computer skills in a Windows-based environment and the ability to learn new software and complete administrative duties.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, verbal, and written communication skills in English.
• Ability to work independently, follow written and verbal directions, manage multiple tasks, and collaborate within a matrix reporting structure.
• Ability to complete HAZWOPER certification, obtain DISA and TWIC clearances, complete OSHA and safety training, and meet respirator and PPE requirements.
• Current driver’s license, ability to obtain a passport, and availability for frequent extended travel, overtime, weekends, and occasional shifts of up to 24 hours.
